DUMP LOBBYIST DISCIPLINED BY TEXAS ETHICS COMMISSION; RECEIVES “SLAP ON THE WRIST.”

Who is former TCEQ Executive Director Glenn Shankle REALLY working for?
Despite the efforts of thousands of concerned citizens and glaring deficiencies, someone at the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality declared the application for the proposed Pescadito dump technically complete and directly referred the application to the State Office of Administrative Hearings (SOAH) for a contested case hearing without allowing the TCEQ Commissioners to rule on it.
How did that happen?
Maybe it had something to do with former TCEQ Executive Director Glenn Shankle, who is now a paid lobbyist for Rancho Viejo Waste Management.
That’s the same Glenn Shankle who attacked Sen. Judith Zaffirini in the May 1, 2018 public meeting. AND the same Glenn Shankle who was accused of corruption when he rammed through a permit application for a NUCLEAR waste dump in West Texas against the recommendations of his own staff. (Shortly thereafter Shankle went to work for that dump developer as a paid lobbyist.) AND the same Glenn Shankle who later was hired to derail a permit application for a dump in Waller County before he sold his services to Rancho Viejo Waste Management, the “developers” behind the proposed Pescadito toxic dump.
However, Shankle somehow never registered as a lobbyist for Rancho Viejo in 2017 and 2018, and this summer was disciplined by the Texas Ethics Commission. (The Ethics Commission made him sign a voluntary agreement to never do it again… basically a slap on the wrist.)
Why?
How much power does Shankle have over TCEQ? Who is his REAL boss? Do you honestly believe it’s just dump developer C.Y. Benavides?
