County Commissioners vote against the DUMP! City Council to consider on May 16!

On Monday, May 9, Webb County Commissioners voted unanimously to oppose the Pescadito dump.  After nearly an hour of presentations by both sides, Commissioners Court voted 4-0 to adopt Commissioner Wawi Tijerina’s resolution to OPPOSE the DUMP!  Commissioner John Galo was not present for the discussion or the vote.

The issue will come before Laredo City Council on Monday, May 16, in its 5pm regularly scheduled meeting. Proposed by Councilman George Altgelt, the agenda item reads:  “Discussion with possible action to pass a resolution in opposition to the proposed regional landfill that is currently in the permitting process by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.”
